Founder, president & HEAD COACH of “f.C. Skupi – promo foot”

Bedri Saliu was born in Skopje on June 2, 1957. From an early age, alongside his education, he also developed a passion for sports. In parallel, he played football for clubs such as F.C. Vardar, F.C. Rabotnički, and F.C. Treska. However, even after ending his career as a footballer, he did not step away from the sport. Instead, he decided to pursue coaching courses at F.C. Slloga Jugomagnat (now F.C. Shkupi) and also holds a FIFA B coaching license.

Currently, he is the founder of F.C. Skupi, a club from which many great players have emerged, including Enis Bardhi.

In 1989, he obtained the highest-level FIFA football coaching license. His coaching career began in 1985 at F.C. Slloga Jugomagnat (now F.C. Shkupi), where he worked alongside Macedonian football legend Bajrush Baftjari, from whom he took his first steps as a coach.

During the former Yugoslavia, he held the highest FIFA license after successfully passing the exam at a football seminar in Zlatibor. This license was possessed by some of the most renowned coaches in former Yugoslavia, and their mentors included famous football instructors like Miljan Miljanić.

He has attended FIFA seminars alongside well-known global football figures such as Radomir Antić, Reshad Kunovac, Vladimir Petrović – Pižon, Harun Isa, Gëzim Lala, and others. He also obtained additional coaching licenses in Medulin, Palić, and Coverciano (Italy). However, after 1995, these licenses were no longer recognized by the Football Federation of Macedonia, as they belonged to the era of former Yugoslavia.

After 1995, he pursued UEFA A and B coaching licenses in Macedonia.

While working at F.C. Slloga Jugomagnat, he frequently led the youth teams to Macedonian championship titles and helped develop high-quality footballers who later found success on the international stage. One of these players was Nderim Nexhipi, who, at just 16 years old, signed with German Bundesliga giant “F.C. Hertha Berlin”.

Many of the successful players he coached, not only excelled in football but also pursued higher education. Some even followed in his footsteps, becoming successful coaches and professors.

In the year 2000, Bedri Saliu founded F.C. Skupi – Promo Foot, laying the foundation for the club’s journey. The club’s achievements and history have been outlined above.

Bedri Saliu on Enis Bardhi:

“Enis Bardhi, who now plays for Bodrumspor in Turkey, and who has played for Trabzonspor (Turkey), Levante (Spain’s La Liga), and Ujpest Dozsa (Hungary), took his first steps in our club from the age of six to fifteen. His talent was exceptional. He had an outstanding work ethic, absorbed every bit of knowledge and technique, and his success was expected. I feel proud of everything he has achieved so far.”
